Question: In the rules it said that crossovers are not allowed, but what about fusions? It would still be entirely set in Atlantis settings with Atlantis characters, but it would be very AU and using the premise of another work of fiction.

AU...encouraged

[personal profile] rabidfan 2012-04-03 03:23 am (UTC)(link)
I'm actually glad that AU's are being encouraged! My question? How AU can I get away with? My story idea seems to drift farther and farther afield...tho all the beloved SGA gang is there.

As long as the cast is there does it have to be a recognizable setting? Here's hoping not!!

Thank you for your time and trouble. It's appreciated.

Okay...I've got my very AU BigBang done...and my artist has done such lovely work!...but I still have questions! Do I post to my story directly to the site (on that Oct day yet to come) or do I send it to one of you long-suffering mods?

I've never done BigBang before and I'm afraid it's beginning to show around the edges. A little. Somewhat.

Let me know?

Thanks.

I understand and agree with moving ABB to dreamwidth, but I was wondering if you'd be willing to link to posts on LJ for authors/artists? I just will go weeks without remembering to check my DW since most of the active people/journals I follow are still on LJ. And I wouldn't want to miss things.

I had so much fun last year, both reading the big bangs that were produced, and writing my own - I wanted to do it again! So thank you VERY much for taking this on, I can only imagine the behind the scenes organization that goes on.

You guys ROCK!

Need to drop out.

I'm sorry, but I don't think I'm going to be able to make the deadline this year and need to drop out. Some unexpected work projects and deadlines have been given to me after a coworker left and I need to focus there for the next few months.

Thank you for running the ABB. I look forward to seeing the stories that come out of it this year.

How rough???

[personal profile] rabidfan 2012-08-09 07:50 pm (UTC)(link)
A rough draft of my BigBang is due on the 15th...how "rough" exactly? I'm not used to writing in such a large format but I've got the first and second sections done. Currently I'm at about 15,000 words...shooting for the 20,000 option. How much of my last section must be done by the deadline?

I'm sorry you're dealing with me! If I were dealing with me? I'd be really annoyed!

Thanks for your help,

Cheri

I"m sorry for the delay in response - [personal profile] gblvr's life has blown up lately!

As long as you have an outline for the remainder of the story (so that your artist knows what happens), it should be fine.

Hi there - the deadline's not far away. Can we post to the ABB comm on AO3 yet? I haven't, as I wasn't sure if a post there would be revealed or hidden at this stage. My fic's not quite sorted but I like to post a bit beforehand and then tweak-edit before the reveals. Plus I have art to post for someone else as well and I'm not sure if we can link the art to the fics using an "inspired by" URL, or if we should just gift it to the writer until reveals and then do the link, or what? But I'm sure all will be made clear shortly!

hey, I'm an artist/mixer for this round but you never approved my membership, so I've apparently been missing out on a bunch of f-locked posts? Anyway, I'd like to be able to post my mix but still don't have instructions on how to do so (and didn't realize the problem until my author kindly pointed it out to me).
